A newbie in film recording

by Andreea Scutariu
(Bucharest)

Dear Mr. Peter Skuse or Mr. Video!
My name is Andreea and I plan to start recording some videos which I intend to upload on the internet, precisely on YouTube.
These are a few details about what I intend to do:
- the recording will take place home, preferably during night time (but want to have the option to shoot also in day light)
- I plan to keep it as simple as possible, so I don't have to catch my ears into the video mess editing too much (but for the record, I am willing to pay an extra time in learning how to further edit image and sound, for the quality sake - that would be in the future, after I get comfortable with first steps).
- for the beginning I plan to shoot video and sound simultaneously, so that i dont have to fuss about fixing sound (i already understood the an external mic is a must).
My question is:
For a girl who's not really into this biz and quite a true dummie at it, what cam corder would you reccomend? Is it optimal to choose a pocket size one? I understand the HD is better (no DVD corder , i got that!).
I'll soon get a credit card so I intend to buy it from internet (Amazon that is, I suppose!), as from a local dealer would be more expensive.
In little words (after I already bored you out with my stuff): what cam do you reccomend me for the beginning?
Thank you for your time and patience. Your initiative is great and I am happy I've discovered your website.
Bee good & have fun!
Love,
Andreea

camcorder recommendation
by: Mr Video

Hi Andreea,

My current camcorder recommendations can be found at Cheap camcorders

Which one you buy depends on your budget. Obviously, the more expensive one will have more features and produce better video, but the cheaper ones will still do a good job.

HD video requires more processing power, so bear that in mind if you have an old computer.

If you are a SBI! member, I recommend you check out my free Video Course at http://forums.sitesell.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=144414

Happy videoing.

Mr Video :-)
